Course: Library and Intellectual Property Issues in Distance Education and E-Learning
What do high school- and college-aged learners need to know to help them fight mis- and disinformation in the social and academic lives? How could a course be designed in a way that would be attractive and engaging to learners while also providing a solid understanding of SIFT and CRA(A)P tests?
This paper and accompanying presentation are especially interesting reflections because they were compiled and submitted on November 6, 2020, a day before Joe Biden was declared the official winner of the presidential election. An election cycle marked by the spread of mis- and disinformation highlights the need for dedicated efforts around information literacy.
